Govt. loses in Lankapura too

The 2014 budget of UPFA-run Lankapura Pradeshiya Sabha in Polonnaruwa was defeated by a one-vote majority today (26).

Of the 12 members in the PS, the UPFA has nine and the UNP three.

At the vote, the deputy chairman and three UPFA members opposed, while another UPFA member was absent, making it a 6-5 loss.

Out of the six UPFA-controlled PS in Polonnaruwa district, four have already lost their budget votes.

UNP loses in Passara for 2nd time

The second vote on the 2014 budget of Passara PS was defeated 7-3.

There was one one abstention.

The UNP-run PS has six members from the UNP and five UPFA members.
