Daughter of Sri Lanka's slain politician appointed as SLFP organizer for Central Colombo

Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa today appointed Hirunika Premachandra, the daughter of slain Presidential Advisor, Bharatha Lakshman Premachandra as the co-organizer of Sri Lanka Freedom party (SLFP) for Central Colombo.


The President handed over the appointment letter to Ms. Premachandra today at the Temple Trees.

Former parliamentarian and presidential adviser Bharatha Lakshman Premachandra was killed during an election day shootout between the supporters of Premachandra and ruling party MP Duminda Silva in October 2011.

SLFP chief organizer for Colombo Senior Minister A.H.M. Fowzie and Secretary of SLFP S. H. Ariyasena were present at the occasion.
