Tangalle Pradeshiya Sabha chairman Sampath Vidanapathirana, the main suspect in the killing of ICRC worker Khuram Shaikh from Britain, has gone missing, BBC Sandeshaya says quoting Sri Lanka police.
The suspect was granted bail about a year ago and had not attended the last court hearing into the murder, citing hospitalization.
Police say a team had been sent to hospital to arrest him, but he was not there.
Vidanapathirana and four others stand accused of killing Shaikh and the gang-raping of his Russian companion.
